1 pound ground sausage or ground beef, browned 1 head green cabbage, cored and chopped 1 large onion 2 quarts beef broth 1 28 ounce can peeled, diced tomatoes 1 6 ounce can tomato paste ⅓ cup balsamic vinegar ¼ cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon pepper
