Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground sausage or ground beef, browned
  • 1 head green cabbage, cored and chopped
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 quarts beef broth
  • 1 28 ounce can peeled, diced tomatoes
  • 1 6 ounce can tomato paste
  • cup balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet, brown the ground sausage or ground beef. 
  • Chop the cabbage and onion, then place in the crock pot.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients to the crock pot, including the cooked meat.
  • Cook on low heat setting for 7 to 8 hours, until the cabbage is tender.
  • Serve with rolls, pumpernickel bread or rye bread.
